B Magazine Interview Antworten

Let's get staright to the point. What's going on between you and Javine?
You know, it's funny, as all I did was run into her at a party in London and we hung out. I heard a lot of rumours in the press. She was cool, but we weren't dating.

So you won't be giving her a call while you're over here?
Well I heard that she dumped me, so.... it's funny how the press think you can be dumped by someone when you're not even with them! I'm looking to meet new people when I'm over in London and if I hang out with Javine then that's cool, but at the same time I'm still single and looking for a lady.

Most of the guys in your band are coupled up. Are you ready to settle down now?
I'm not really into that frame of mind at the moment. I'm very independent but if I meet someone who is on the same page as me, then we're good.

What type of girls do you usually go for?
Every woman has her own qualities. I like really adventurous girls who have high spirits and are positive about life. I also like girls who are affectionate. I can be very romantic if I'm really into someone but I don't fall very easily.

Did you fall in love with Paris when you were dating her last year?
Ummm, maybe. I guess you could say it was pretty close to it. She's certainly not been my most serious girlfriend, but I got really caught up in that relationship. I've started to learn that when you put your energy into somebody, if you're not receiving it back and you're not getting anything positive from them then you can end up feeling very drained. It takes everything out of you and I needed that energy in order to perform and do my job. I feel the problem with Paris is that she thrives off hurting other people, and it's just not me. It's better to have someone who supports you and who actually makes you stronger through the relationship.

She said a lot of bitchy things about you to the press when yous split. How did you feel about that?
You know, it doesn't bother me as it feels like a long time ago now. I've been through it and I just look at it like she was just one of my girlfriends. She's not very interesting, and I'm not in touch with her any more. I'm not going to kill myself about it though, trust me, I'm much happier now I'm not with her.

Would you ever date a celebrity again?
I really have to find somebody who is special. What I mean by that is that I need someone who is not very material and into life itself and not just things which revolve around life, which Paris was.

Earlier this year you were arrested for drunk driving. How did that affect you?
It's affected me to a certain extent. Obviously I'm going to have to do certain things. Everyone is saying I'm in rehab, and they want to put me in that category because of what happened with AJ. But it's nothing to do with that. This is just that I've been told to attend a couple of alcohol awareness classes. I just want to clear that up.

It must have been a pretty scary moment when you realized that you had done wrong and that all you're fans were going to find out?
I remeber asking 'OK, this is a dumb question but is this going to be publicized?' The police said 'Hey, at least you look good in the mugshot!' You know, I certainly don't want to go through anything like that again. I really need to just put it behind me now.

What ambitions do you still have left?
I'd like to get involved in politics. I'm not sure in what capacity but I've been thinking about that kind of stuff recently. I'm also working on some films and I'd like to pursue more solo material. I've started a publishing company and I'd like to write more with other artists. When I get over to Britain I'm going to be writing some stuff with Brian McFadden ( *freu*), so watch this space!
